    Description

Vintage Leedy 1948 WMP Trap kit W/ Zenjan cymbsls Harware + A++ Leedy & Ludwig.
I’m offering up this sweet Leedy 4809 trap kit in incredible condition for sale this week.
All matching drums in outstanding condition, the wraps are in pristine shape, no lifted seams on any of the original wraps, and only slightly yellowed which is outstanding for a 74 year old kit!
    Sizes:
    Bass Drum, 14x24
    Snare Drum, 6x14
    Mounted Tom, 8x13
    Floor Tom, 16x16
All date stamps match 4809, Mfg’d September 1949.
The date stamp on the shells on the Tom’s are clearly visible, the snare date stamp is faint, like it was rubbed thin when someone cleaned it.
All the drums have dual mufflers top and bottom, nickel plated lugs, stick chopper rims. The bass drum has the calf-skin heads batter and resonant side. The guy I acquired these from put Aquarian Vintage heads on the toms, but I have a clean set of calf skin heads that were on the Tom’s before he put modern heads . The snare has Remo coated Ambassador on the batter side and a clear Diplomat on the snare side. The snare strainer works perfectly and has “snappy” wire snares.
I’m selling the kit with the sock-cymbal stand that is 38” tall with a pair of funky non-branded definitely vintage 10” sock cymbals. It has a Zenjan stamped 16” ride cymbal, with NO key holing, and a Zenjan 10” splash cymbal that does have some key holing, but not cracked.
The Leedy bass drum pedal and hi-hat stand all function and squeak like-new! Besides the hoop mount rack tom hardware, there is a shell mounted ride cymbal attachment, there are no other ”bonus” holes on any of these shells. The ride cymbal mount seems vintage correct with a “Z” bar extension with a tilter for the cymbal mount. The splash cymbal is hoop mounted, with a tilter as well. The kit even has a Leedy branded cowbell hoop mount with a patina cow-bell that is not bent up at all. There is also an accessory hoop mount stand (for maybe a triangle that is missing), but it does have a vintage non branded 10” tambourine that will go with the kit as shown in the photos. The snare drum stand looks like a 1960’s “upgrade” for a 1948 kit.
This is a true time-machine find that could be considered museum quality that has been obviously stored in a smoke-free climate controlled environment it’s entire life, and barely played.
