Description
Vintage 1940s women's taupe 3-piece suit set from Swansdown - New York. I believe the fabric is rayon - it's definitely a plant-based fiber.JACKET:
The unlined tailored jacket has two front slash pockets, shoulder pads, long cuffed sleeves, pearlized lucite buttons, bound button holes and two inside pockets.
TOP:
The top has cap sleeves and a front tie. The back closes with 5 clear buttons.
SKIRT:
The pencil skirt is below the knee with waist darts and side metal zipper and button closure. There is a 2-1/2" back slit at the hem. It is unlined and has pinked seams. (skirt does not have a seam in the front, I put it on the wrong way for pictures. The seams are on the side.
NOTE: the top measures much larger than the jacket & skirt and it might have been purchased later time but the fabric is the same.

Flaws noted:
* skirt - 3/8" stitching out at top of back slit
* top - 1/2" thin area on hem right back
*top - 1/2" area at bottom of right armhole where stitching has pulled out
*2 faint spots on jacket front by pocket
These "issues" are very minor and basically this ensemble is very well preserved.
