    SOME THOUGHTS: I've acquired a number of bed rails and, for what it's worth, offer my observations. Also
    listed is the
    Able-life
    . Both reach 30". The Stander, is sturdier and will support more weight. At 30" it is quite an obstacle; as a 'safety rail' its intention. To be practical it requires a care-giver to lower the side down before one gets
    into
    (or
    out of
    ) bed. The main photo is from the manufacturer and shows the rail positioned incorrectly toward the head of the bed when it should be located more centrally aligned with the torso. The Able-life is
    somewhat lighter. Being
    adjustable it can be shortened. Less restricted, a more agile person should be able to maneuver around it. However, in this configuration it offers less sleep protection, more appropriate if the intended use is that of a grab bar to stabilize and facilitate access. After decades of rolling in and out of bed both are going to be perceived by the user as an obstacle.
