Hooded FALCON on Fist STATUE FIGURE 23" wood SPAIN abstract Art Falconry hawk

Understand, this figure is huge! Check with a yardstick and see just how tall 23 inches is! This is a trained Falcon. i think most people looking at this right now, know just exactly what you are looking at, but i will continue. the top is metal, and is added to the big piece of carved wood. the hood is stained reddish. There are little studs or nail tops that decorate the hood. His beak sticks out. brown. His body is stained light brown and his claws are darker. legs and claws look good. He stands on a very strong man's fisted glove. it is really fantastic! That is not how Falconers hold their birds, but i sure like it. The glove is stained dark brown. Now, there are two labels on the bottom. Garcia Imports was an Interior Decorators place in Texas many years ago. They bought him from a company in Spain that sold the local artists wares. So who carved it? I don't know. there are two little dents- one in the lower back of the bird, and one in the back of the fist, half inch from the bottom. it's pretty heavy. 4.5 pounds. plus the boxes. i plan to build it a double layer box with plenty of bubble wrap. (that, or keep him.) 1960s is my best guess. 12 pictures to look at.  enjoy.
